Italian tomato salad ready in a few minutes

Preparation:
Prepare tomatoes: Wash the tomatoes and cut them into bite-sized pieces. You can also slice them if you want.
Cut onion: Peel the onion and cut it into thin rings.
Garlic (optional): If you want to use garlic, peel it and chop or press it very finely.
Pluck basil: Roughly pluck the basil leaves.
To serve: Place tomato pieces, onion rings, and garlic (if using) in a bowl. Toss with basil leaves.
Prepare dressing: In a small bowl, mix olive oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, and sugar (if using) well.
Toss salad: Pour dressing over tomato mixture and toss well.
Add cheese: If you want, you can sprinkle grated parmesan or feta cheese over the salad.
To serve: Serve the salad immediately or let it sit for a few minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
