Which is better: automatic or manual?
I'm going to change cars and I'm totally undecided.
And although my friends and I support one or the other, that doesn't help me.
So I asked Fabien, my mechanic, to enlighten me on the subject.
He explained to me all the advantages and disadvantages of each gearbox.
Advantages, consumption, repair costs, maintenance...
And there's no photo of him! You should never buy a car with an automatic gearbox.
Why? Here are his explanations:
The automatic gearbox consumes more petrol

It may seem strange, but it is the manual gearbox that consumes the least fuel.
We would rather think that the automatic would act more sensibly thanks to its computer.
And therefore be more economical. But this is not the case.
Why?
Because it is only familiar with so-called "classic" driving situations.
On mountain roads, for example, it loses efficiency.
In addition, the driver acts in anticipation depending on the road conditions.
He knows a few seconds in advance when he will postpone a message.
His action is perfectly timed, the automatic transmission arrives a few seconds late.
Finally, a driver who chooses an environmentally responsible driving style can consume up to 15% less fuel than a car with an automatic transmission of the same model.
